Move Better. Feel Better. Live Better.

Pain Relief

Pain can come from many sources - tension, muscular imbalances, postural issues, Trigger Points, scar tissue and adhesions, muscle spasms, injury, and so on. With so many sources for pain, we need a variety of approaches for treating it.

For each client, I develop a personalized treatment plan, drawing primarily from Myofascial/Deep Tissue massage, as well as addressing Trigger Points and utilizing a variety of assisted stretches. I also often use Hot Stones to bring heat into the muscles and reduce potential discomfort.

I will also teach you movement therapies that you can practice at home, which will prolong the effects of the massage. If ergonomics are an issue, we may discuss options to make everyday activities more comfortable.

Improve Mobility

Mobility and pain relief are frequently intertwined, and there are many mobility issues that can be helped with Massage Therapy. By creating space in the joint, freeing adhesions that are preventing muscles from moving independently, clearing Trigger Points that are preventing muscles from reaching their full length, and balancing the tensions of surrounding muscles, we can improve the way your joints move and feel.

I will also be happy to teach you movement therapies that you can practice at home, which can prolong the effects of the massage. If ergonomics are an issue, we may discuss options to make everyday activities more comfortable.

Relaxation

Being able to relax is a true necessity.

Living under constant stress steals nutrients from important systems in our bodies that aren't considered important by our nervous systems' fight-or-flight responses. The Digestion, Immunity, and Reproductive systems all suffer when we don't get the chance to truly relax and let go. Not to mention how difficult it can be to make good decisions when our minds are overwhelmed with stress!

I use a combination of Swedish, gentle Myofascial, and Hot Stone techniques to melt away stress held in the body.

If you're not sure what all these terms mean: Swedish Massage tends to leave people feeling "warm, loose, and fluffy", while Myofascial Massage tends to leave people feeling "long, light, and loose".
